Baseball Recap: Frostproof Victorious

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Frostproof ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Ridge Community Bolts, sneaking past 7-6. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Bolts back in March, they had to take a 12-9 defeat.

Colton Paulk was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Frostproof is 4-1 when Paulk posts two or more runs, but 7-9 otherwise. Carson Joyner also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Frostproof has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Ridge Community, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

Frostproof will head out to challenge Lake Region at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ridge Community, they will be taking part in a tournament against Lake Wales at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
