Mt. Carmel's game  on Monday was a  loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Richland County Tigers with a sharp  13-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Golden Aces, who have now won six games by eight  runs or more  so far this season.
 Brendan Bowser and  Will Reed made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound,  Bowser   struck out seven batters over  five innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   three  hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile,  Reed   tossed one inning while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. That's the most  strikeouts  Bowser has posted since back in April. At the plate,  Bowser  went 2-for-3 with two  RBI, one  run,  and one  double, while  Reed  went 3-for-4 with three  RBI and one  double.
 In other batting news, Mt. Carmel got a  massive  performance out of  Ryder Sloss, who  went 1-for-3 with one  home run and two  RBI.  Santiago Guanipa was another key player,  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances with two  stolen bases and two  runs.
 Mt. Carmel  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .576. They are  a perfect 4-0 when  they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Mt. Carmel's victory bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Richland County, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record  this season.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mt. Carmel will host Mt. Vernon  at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Golden Aces are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on  a  ten-game losing streak. As for Richland County, they will square off against Marshall at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday.
