Soccer Game Preview: Hillcrest vs. Canyon Springs

The Hillcrest Trojans are taking a road trip to challenge the Canyon Springs Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hillcrest's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Hillcrest is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Liberty on Thursday. Hillcrest fell just short of Liberty by a score of 1-0.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Canyon Springs faced off against Arlington on Thursday. Canyon Springs fell just short of Arlington by a score of 4-3. The Cougars have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Canyon Springs' defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-3. As for Hillcrest, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7-3.

Hillcrest skirted past Canyon Springs 1-0 in their previous matchup back in March of 2021. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hillcrest since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
