Softball Game Preview: Toronto Red Knights vs. Heartland Christian Lions

The Toronto Red Knights will head out to square off against the Heartland Christian Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Toronto has given up an average of 9.7 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Toronto came up short against Madonna on Monday, falling 20-5.

Jaylee Brown made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Anna Wright also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Meanwhile, Heartland Christian unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 15-4 to David Anderson on Friday.

Rachel Reynolds was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriella McDowell, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-1.

Toronto now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Heartland Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
