Softball Recap: Griffith Panthers vs. Kankakee Valley Kougars

The Griffith Panthers fell victim to a rough 15-1 loss at the hands of the Kankakee Valley Kougars on Wednesday. Griffith has not had much luck with Kankakee Valley recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Natalie Vianello made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-2 with a triple and a run.

On Kankakee Valley's side, Kyli Page made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Page was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Emily Erb was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Sara Erb, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Griffith's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Kankakee Valley, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Griffith will head out on the road to challenge Highland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Kankakee Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wheeler at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
