Softball Recap: St. Albans Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cabell Midland, St. Albans was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Ravenswood Red Devils by a score of 5-1. The Red Dragons haven't had any issues with the Red Devils recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Ava Bentley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Paige White was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Ali Long was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

St. Albans' victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Ravenswood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Albans will venture away from home to take on Spring Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ravenswood, they will head out to square off against Gilmer County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
