Preview: Southwest Onslow Stallions vs. James Kenan Tigers
Southwest Onslow has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the James Kenan Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Southwest Onslow has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 188 points over their last three contests.
Southwest Onslow stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They really took it to Wallace-Rose Hill for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-24 win at home. With Southwest Onslow ahead 39-11 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Southwest Onslow to victory, but perhaps none more so than Yamorie Hardison, who almost dropped a triple-double on 13 points, nine assists, and ten steals. Hardison is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Oriyanna Galloway, who scored 19 points along with seven steals.
Meanwhile, James Kenan unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 39-38 to North Lenoir. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for James Kenan in their matchups with North Lenoir: they've now lost seven in a row.
Southwest Onslow's victory was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-0. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 29.5 points. As for James Kenan, their loss dropped their record down to 10-10.
Southwest Onslow strolled past James Kenan in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 56-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for Southwest Onslow since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
