Basketball Game Preview: Billingsley Bears vs. Autauga Academy Generals

The Billingsley Bears will head out to challenge the Autauga Academy Generals at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Billingsley's defense has only allowed 29.5 points per game this season, so Autauga Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Billingsley heads in on the heels of a playoff game on Monday. They fell just short of Marion by a score of 46-43. The Bears' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Autauga Academy). They breezed by Verbena to the tune of 72-14 on Tuesday. The win was familiar territory for the Generals who have now won eight matches in a row.

Autauga Academy is also on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.4 points per game. As for Billingsley, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-7.

Billingsley ended up a good deal behind Autauga Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, losing 38-19. Can Billingsley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
