Basketball Recap: Cornerstone Baptist Academy Comes Up Short

Cornerstone Baptist Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Bible Baptist Eagles 55-20. Cornerstone Baptist Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-12.

Bible Baptist's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Marcos Carrillo, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 10 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of David Martinez, who posted eight points and 11 rebounds.

Bible Baptist's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-3.

Cornerstone Baptist Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Emmanuel Christian at 5:30 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
