Baseball Game Preview: Grant Lancers vs. Monroe Vikings

Grant is 1-9 against Monroe since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. Grant will host Monroe at 2:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Grant 1.9, Monroe 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Grant's offense. They lost 7-0 to Campbell Hall on Wednesday. The Lancers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Grant saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Fernando Padilla, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Monroe waltzed into their game on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Eagles.

Kevin Henriquez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Henriquez was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Grant's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Monroe, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.

Grant beat Monroe 5-0 when the teams last played back in February. Will Grant repeat their success, or does Monroe has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
