Baseball Recap: Chelmsford Extends Winning Streak to Four

Chelmsford entered their tilt with Billerica Memorial on Wednesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Indians. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Matthew Stuart made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Stuart was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jack Keyo, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Chelmsford's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average this season. As for Billerica Memorial, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Chelmsford and Billerica Memorial will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Lions will challenge rival North Andover at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Billerica Memorial is set to square off against their familiar foe Methuen at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
