Basketball Game Preview: Bolton Wildcats vs. Ripley Tigers

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Bolton Wildcats duke it out with the Ripley Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday... One thing working in Bolton's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Bolton easily dispatched Craigmont on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Bolton fell just short of Millington Central by a score of 68-65 on Saturday. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Despite their loss, Bolton saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. E'Darian Washington, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 20 points and four steals, was perhaps the best of all. The contest was Washington's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Kylan Collins was another key player, going 5 of 12 on his way to 13 points in addition to seven assists and six boards.

Meanwhile, Ripley was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 63-57 to East Nashville Magnet.

Bolton now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Ripley, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.

Bolton won a game that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in March of 2022, slipping by Ripley 53-52. Will Bolton repeat their success, or does Ripley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
