Basketball Recap: Nevada Takes a Loss

After flying high against Harrisonville last Tuesday, Nevada came back down to earth. The Nevada Tigers took a 55-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Joplin Eagles on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Tigers came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while the Eagles are ranked 162nd).

Nevada's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Joplin, they pushed their record up to 5-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Nevada will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Clinton at 7:30 p.m. on January 28th. As for Joplin, they will take on Washburn Rural at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. Washburn Rural is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.7 points per game this season.
