Preview: Waterloo East vs. Independence
Given their disadvantage in the MaxPreps state rankings, Waterloo East should expect quite the challenge on Friday. They will challenge Independence on the road at 7:00 PM. Waterloo East are limping into the game on a six-game losing streak.
Waterloo East have to be aching after a bruising 34-61 defeat to Charles City last Friday. It was a tough break for Waterloo East, who improved upon an already decent score from two weeks ago but lost both times.
As for Independence, Independence had a rough outing against Center Point-Urbana two weeks ago, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. Independence strolled past West Delaware with points to spare, taking the matchup 31-14.
Independence's win lifted them to 4-1 while Waterloo East's loss dropped them down to 0-6. We'll see if Independence's success rolls on or if Waterloo East are able to steal their positive momentum.
