Baseball Recap: Boiling Springs Comes Up Short

Boiling Springs lost against Shippensburg back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Bubblers fell just short of the Greyhounds by a score of 9-7.

Timmy George and Mason Labuda stepped up to the plate in a big way. George went 3-for-4 with four RBI, while Labuda went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Chance Flor, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Boiling Springs has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.67 runs. As for Shippensburg, their victory bumped their record up to 6-11.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Boiling Springs will take on rival James Buchanan at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Shippensburg is set to square off against their familiar foe Waynesboro at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
