Preview: Paden City Wildcats vs. Notre Dame Fighting Irish
The Paden City Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Paden City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 last Monday.
Paden City has not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They snuck past Hannan with a 31-27 win.
Paden City can attribute much of their success to Kimberly Burch, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and six steals, and Ashton Wade, who scored eight points along with eight blocks and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Lexi Mathis, who scored eight points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Notre Dame's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their ninth straight loss. They lost to Tygarts Valley on the road by a decisive 54-39 margin. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Notre Dame in their matchups with Tygarts Valley: they've now lost six in a row.
Paden City's victory bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Notre Dame, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-14.
