Basketball Game Preview: Edison Chargers vs. Vermilion Sailors

Edison is 2-8 against Vermilion since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Edison Chargers will face off against the Vermilion Sailors at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Edison is headed into Saturday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game on Thursday. They came up short against St. Paul, falling 69-44.

Meanwhile, Vermilion fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Norwalk on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 52-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Truckers. The Sailors have struggled against the Truckers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Edison will need focus on slowing down Adam Gerber, one of several Vermilion players who made an impact when they last played. He went 5 for 7 en route to 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brock Meyers, who posted six points and 12 boards.

Edison's record now sits at 1-10. As for Vermilion, their record now sits at 4-8.

Edison came up short against Vermilion when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 56-51. Can Edison avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
