Football Game Preview: Chaminade Red Devils vs. De Smet Jesuit Spartans

The Chaminade Red Devils will venture away from home to face off against the De Smet Jesuit Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Chaminade has given up an average of 31 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Chaminade will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up seven points on September 12th, then bounced right back against Vianney last Friday. The Red Devils took down the Golden Griffins 49-34. The Red Devils' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, after only 13 points in their last game, De Smet Jesuit made sure to put some points up on the board against Vianney on Friday. The Spartans enjoyed a cozy 56-42 win over the Golden Griffins. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Spartans' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri football rankings (they are ranked 16th, while the Golden Griffins are ranked 116th).

De Smet Jesuit's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-3. As for Chaminade, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Chaminade was dealt a bruising 44-7 loss at the hands of De Smet Jesuit in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Red Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
