If Jacobs was riding high fresh off their 7-0 takedown of Murphysboro on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Golden Eagles fell 8-5 to the Cathedral Fighting Irish on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Andrew Robertsen was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Deegan, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Jacobs' loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Cathedral, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Jacobs is taking a road trip to challenge Elk Grove at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Cathedral, they will be playing at home against Indianapolis Bishop Chatard at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
