Basketball Recap: James River Comes Up Short

James River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Alleghany Cougars and fell 68-37. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 336th, while the Cougars are ranked 87th).

James River's loss dropped their record down to 7-19. As for Alleghany, their victory bumped their record up to 15-7.

James River does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Alleghany, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Carroll County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Carroll County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 12 contests.
