Volleyball Recap: Mt. Olive Comes Up Short

Mt. Olive lost against Southwestern back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Piasa Birds by a score of 2-1.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Mt. Olive sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-18, 23-25, 15-5.

Mt. Olive has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for Southwestern, the victory snapped their losing streak at four matches and leaves them with a 11-12-2 record.

Coincidentally, Mt. Olive and Southwestern will both be playing Carlinville the next time they take the court. The Wildcats will head out to face the Cavaliers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Piasa Birds will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
