Soccer Recap: Everglades Comes Up Short

If Everglades was riding high fresh off their 5-2 takedown of Monarch last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Everglades Gators came up short against the South Broward Bulldogs on Monday, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, the Gators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 342nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 117th).

Everglades' defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for South Broward, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Everglades will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Fort Lauderdale at 4:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for South Broward, they will venture away from home to square off against Pompano Beach at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
