Football Recap: Prairie View Academy Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Prairie View Academy had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 42-12 victory over the Delta Streets Academy Lions. With the Spartans ahead 42-6 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Hayden Little had a dynamite game, rushing for 124 yards and one TD, while also throwing for 60 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 84 yards. Another player making a difference was Nathan Stokes, who gained 83 total yards and three touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Prairie View Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 256 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 207 rushing yards in five consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Prairie View Academy will host Riverdale Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Delta Streets Academy, they are taking a road trip to face off against Lee Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
