Appleton North faced Neenah in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Lightning fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 29-27. The Lightning have struggled against the Rockets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Appleton North's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Neenah, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.
