Game recap: Pleasant Hill High School Football Team bests Grain Valley

PLEASANT HILL, Mo. - the Roosters had a big 28-point second quarter on Saturday, sealing a 52-21 victory over Grain Valley (Mo.).

Pleasant Hill scored on a Josh Shewmaker touchdown run, a touchdown pass by Shewmaker to Tyler Sanford, a Shewmaker touchdown pass to Sanford and a touchdown pass by Sanford to Brandon Cassity in the quarter.

After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Kolin Rodgers in the first quarter, PH led 38-14 at the half.

The Roosters grew their lead to 38 points entering the fourth quarter. Pleasant Hill scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Rodgers.

With the win PH extended its winning streak to five games. Pleasant Hill defeated Nevada 52-20 last week.



The victory will ease some of the sting of Pleasant Hill's close 29-28 loss to the Eagles last season.

The loss comes after Grain Valley defeated Smith-Cotton 37-14 last week. The loss broke Grain Valley's three-game winning streak.

Pleasant Hill (5-0) goes up against Oak Grove in a Missouri River Valley - West game matchup next week, while Grain Valley (3-2) locks horns with Harrisonville also in a Missouri River Valley - West game.
