Westminster hasn't had much luck against Prairie View recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Wolves will be playing in front of their home fans against the Thunderhawks at 4:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Westminster comes in on three and Prairie View on four.
On Tuesday, Westminster needed a bit of extra time to put away Northglenn. They had just enough and edged out the Norsemen 5-4. Those five runs were actually the fewest the Wolves have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
Westminster got a great performance from Andrew Townsend as he pitched five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Adrian Moreno, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Alcantor, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases.
Meanwhile, Prairie View was able to grind out a solid win over Riverdale Ridge on Tuesday, taking the game 6-2.
Favi Gaeta made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over six innings pitched. Gaeta was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and one RBI.
In other batting news, Jerry Stone was incredible, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Noah Hernandez, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
Prairie View pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Westminster, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
Prairie View's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Westminster hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .416. It's a different story for Prairie View, though, as they've only averaged .254. Will they be able to contain Westminster's hitters?
Westminster might still be hurting after the 17-1 defeat they got from Prairie View in their previous meeting back in May of 2022. Will the Wolves have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
