Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for De La Salle

De La Salle took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Foothill, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Spartans won by a set and slipped past the Falcons 3-2. The victory was familiar territory for the Spartans, who have now won three matches in a row.

De La Salle was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-16, 18-25, 25-18, 16-14.

De La Salle had a senior duo take command as Owen McDonagh had 23 assists and five digs and Gino Colombana had six digs and two aces. McDonagh is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 13 or more in each of the last three games he's played. Lucas Berry also deserves some recognition as he served his first aces of the season.

De La Salle's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-11. As for Foothill, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 22-11 record this season.

De La Salle didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Amador Valley on the 3rd. As for Foothill, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Las Lomas on the 6th.
