Mahwah extended the longest winning streak in Big North - Patriot this week by beating Lakeland Regional, 21-3. The victory was the 10th in a row for the Thunderbirds.

Westwood took down Elmwood Park 62-12 last week, the largest margin of any game. Craig Carmilani threw for 267 yards and 3 touchdowns and ran for 41 yards in the win.

The Cardinals' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Brandon Gallagher chipped in 118 yards. Gallagher helped Westwood's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 46 yards.

Carmilani put up the best numbers through the air as Westwood defeated the Crusaders. Carmilani's favorite target this week was Nolan Borgersen, who caught 6 passes for 176 yards.

Westwood's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Cardinals feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Carmilani has thrown for 2,437 yards and 29 touchdowns this season, while Borgersen has 71 catches for 1,622 yards.

Vito Campanile's team's Gallagher needs only 58 yards against Newton next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 102 carries Gallagher has accumulated 942 yard this year.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when River Dell takes on Mahwah. As it stands, the Golden Hawks are in third, while Jeff Remo's team is in first.

The Thunderbirds made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,569 from 3,262. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 21-3 victory over the Lancers last week.
