Softball Recap: Gilbert's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gilbert). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the South Aiken Thoroughbreds a 16-0 shutout on Wednesday. The victory was nothing new for the Indians as they're now sitting on four straight.

Gilbert pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for South Aiken, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Gilbert will have a chance to go back-to-back against South Aiken: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
