Softball Recap: Parkersburg Takes a Loss

Parkersburg lost against George Washington back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Parkersburg fell just short of George Washington by a score of 6-5. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Parkersburg saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kendall Kimes, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs Kimes has posted since back in March of 2024. Shelby Mercer was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Parkersburg's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2. As for George Washington, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Parkersburg will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Capital at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for George Washington, they will square off against Wyoming East at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
