Flag Football Recap: Bailey Williams and Kaylee Mitchell Pace Westchester Defense + How To Watch

Westchester dropped to 5-3 on Monday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. The matchup between the Comets and the Venice Gondoliers didn't end well, with the Comets falling 20-6. While losing is never fun, the Comets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 494th, while the Gondoliers are ranked 232nd).

Westchester didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Bailey Williams and Kaylee Mitchell.

As for Venice, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 31.9 points over those games.

Venice found their leader in freshman Avery Wind, who threw for 144 yards and two touchdowns.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Westchester will take on rival Hamilton at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Comets 12.6, the Yankees 13) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Venice is set to square off against their familiar foe Los Angeles CES at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
