Basketball Recap: Rock Canyon Comes Up Short

Rock Canyon won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They lost 65-43 to the Valor Christian Eagles. The Jaguars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-31.

Despite the loss, Rock Canyon still got an impressive performance from Kasen Lehman, who went 10 of 18 on his way to 23 points. Lehman is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Andrew Abner was another key player, putting up eight points.

Cole Scherer went supernova for Valor Christian, dropping a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ryan Mandes, who posted seven points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Rock Canyon now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Valor Christian, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Rock Canyon will head out to challenge Doherty at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Valor Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Sand Creek at 3:00 p.m.
