            Softball Recap: Capital Cougars vs. St. Joseph Central Irish        
        
		
        
        
            Capital extended their losing streak  to nine  on Monday, dropping their season record down to 3-19 in the process. They fell  4-0 to the St. Joseph Central Irish. That's two games in a row now that the Cougars have lost by  exactly four  runs.
 Faithanna Hall spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four  runs (all of which were unearned)  on six hits and racked up six Ks.
 At the plate, Capital saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Jadan Bishop, who  went 1-for-3 with one  stolen base.
As for St. Joseph Central, they now  have a winning record of 9-8. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for they.
On St. Joseph Central's side,  not much got past  Kate Oxley, who gave up just  four  hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Capital off the board. Oxley has been consistent for a while: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in 11 consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Carolyn Watts and  Brooklyn Anderson did most of the damage at the plate:  Watts  went 2-for-4 with two  RBI and one  run, while  Anderson  went 2-for-4 with one  stolen base and two  RBI. Those  two  RBI gave  Watts a new career-high.
 Capital didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  game,  a  10-2  defeat against South Charleston on the 29th. As for St. Joseph Central, they have also already played their next contest,  a  22-6  win against Man on the 2nd.
