Baseball Game Preview: Wright City Wildcats vs. Wellsville-Middletown Tigers

The Wright City Wildcats will square off against the Wellsville-Middletown Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Wright City is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Duchesne just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 4-0 to the Pioneers.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Wellsville-Middletown, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Everything went their way against Missouri Military Academy on Tuesday as they made off with a 16-1 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Tigers' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Wright City's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Wellsville-Middletown, their victory ended a 13-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-13.

Wright City took their win against Wellsville-Middletown when the teams last played back in May of 2021 by a conclusive 15-0 score. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
