Baseball Game Preview: Muenster Hornets vs. Valley Mills Eagles

The Muenster Hornets will take on the Valley Mills Eagles on Saturday. Muenster will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.

Muenster is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over Sam Rayburn.

Meanwhile, Valley Mills waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 10-5.

Jackson Sparkman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Sparkman was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Andrew Rodriguez was excellent, going 2-for-5 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Christian Lazarine, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Valley Mills always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dawson only posted an OBP of .371.

Muenster's record now sits at 22-8-2. As for Valley Mills, their record is now 20-10.

Muenster suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Valley Mills when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can the Hornets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
