Basketball Game Preview: South Rowan Raiders vs. Lake Norman Charter Knights

South Rowan is 0-7 against Lake Norman Charter since January of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The South Rowan Raiders will look to defend their home court against the Lake Norman Charter Knights at 7:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

South Rowan is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 77-43 loss at the hands of Carson. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 606th, while the Cougars are ranked 175th).

Meanwhile, Lake Norman Charter suffered their biggest loss since December 4, 2024 on Wednesday. They came up short against Hough, falling 67-45. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Knights' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

Lake Norman Charter has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for South Rowan, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-21.

South Rowan took a serious blow against Lake Norman Charter when the teams last played back in January, falling 78-27. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point South Rowan was down 42-15.
