Softball Preview: Seattle Christian Warriors vs. Granite Falls Tigers
The Seattle Christian Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Granite Falls Tigers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Seattle Christian will bounce into Saturday's match after beating Klahowya, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Warriors put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 10-4 win on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.
Jessica Knight made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). Knight was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs.
In other batting news, Evelyn Koontz was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run and four RBI. Izzy Blase was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Granite Falls). They blew past Tyee 20-5 on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Seattle Christian's record is now 6-2. As for Granite Falls, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
