Baseball Recap: Palmyra-Macedon Beats Waterloo for Their Fourth Straight Victory

The matchup between Palmyra-Macedon and Waterloo on Tuesday hardly resembled the 3-1 effort from their previous meeting. The Red Raiders blew past the Tigers 19-5. The Red Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by ten runs or more this season.

Noah DaPolito was incredible, going 3-for-5 with seven RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those seven RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Porpora, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs and one RBI.

Palmyra-Macedon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win (which was Palmyra-Macedon's fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Waterloo, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Palmyra-Macedon will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
