Baseball Recap: Orofino Extends Winning Streak to Six

Orofino waltzed into their match on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They blew past the Grangeville Bulldogs 11-1. That's more bragging rights for the Maniacs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Aiden Olive made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Olive was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Quinton Naranjo was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Blake Barlow, who scored two runs.

Orofino's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Grangeville, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orofino will square off against Marsing at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Grangeville, they will challenge Priest River at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games the Spartans have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
