Recap: South Cobb Eagles vs. Dunwoody Wildcats
The South Cobb Eagles pushed their score all the way to 57 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 67-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Dunwoody. South Cobb was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Dunwoody apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
South Cobb's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emery McCurdy, who scored 11 points. DJ McMillan was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.
South Cobb has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Dunwoody, their victory bumped their record up to 6-11.
South Cobb will head out on the road to square off against Lakeside at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Dunwoody, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Riverwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Riverwood knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Dunwoody likes a good challenge.
