Basketball Game Preview: Aquinas Academy Crusaders vs. Avella Eagles

The Aquinas Academy Crusaders will head out to challenge the Avella Eagles at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Aquinas Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 17 games -- so hopefully Avella likes a good challenge.

On Friday, Aquinas Academy got the win against Beaver County Christian by a conclusive 58-38. The win continues a trend for the Crusaders in their matchups with Beaver County Christian: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Avella humbled Summit Academy with a 74-42 victory. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 23 points or more this season.

Aquinas Academy now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Avella, their victory bumped their record up to 15-4.

Aquinas Academy beat Avella 61-48 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Crusaders since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
