Softball Recap: Hampden Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Hampden barely beat Brunswick the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Broncos blew past the Dragons 11-1 on Friday. The Broncos haven't had any issues with the Dragons recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Cat Facchini was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Facchini was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Kiera Gabric was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Aubrey Shaw was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Hampden's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. As for Brunswick, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hampden will welcome Oxford Hills at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Brunswick, they will be playing at home against Lincoln Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
