Softball Recap: Minnechaug Regional Find Success

Minnechaug Regional won the last time they faced Monson and things went their way on Saturday too. The Falcons narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Mustangs 4-3. The victory was some much needed relief for the Falcons as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Minnechaug Regional saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Peabody, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Aezlin Rost also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Minnechaug Regional's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Monson, they dropped their record down to 3-6 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Minnechaug Regional will head out on the road to face off against Hampshire Regional at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Monson, they will welcome South Hadley at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
