Baseball Recap: Mead Comes Up Short

Mead fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Monarch on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Coyotes by a score of 11-10.

Isaac Lockwood was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and seven unearned) runs off five hits.

At the plate, Tomas Gonzalez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Stryker Leick, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Mead's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Monarch, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-11.

Mead wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 8-7 victory against Fairview on the 1st. As for Monarch, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Horizon on the 1st.
