Baseball Game Preview: Pymatuning Valley Lakers vs. Lakeside Dragons

Pymatuning Valley is 2-7 against Lakeside since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Lakers will challenge the Dragons at 4:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Pymatuning Valley couldn't beat Madison on Friday even though they stacked five runs on them in the fifth inning. The Lakers took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Streaks. The Lakers' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Meanwhile, Lakeside fell victim to West Geauga and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 7-0 to the Wolverines. The Dragons haven't had much luck with the Wolverines recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Lakeside saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Wooten, who went 1-for-4 with one double.

Pymatuning Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Lakeside, their loss dropped their record down to 5-13.

Pymatuning Valley took their win against Lakeside in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lakers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
