Football Recap: Van Buren County Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Van Buren County's offense. They were dealt a 42-0 defeat at the hands of the Danville Bears on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Bears: they've now lost four in a row.

Van Buren County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Danville, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Van Buren County will head out to face off against Pekin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Danville, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on New London at 7:00 p.m. on October 3.
