Basketball Recap: Wheelersburg Takes a Loss

Wheelersburg was the 72-50 winner over Valley when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wheelersburg Pirates fell just short of the Valley Indians by a score of 67-64 on Saturday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (55), the Pirates still had to take the loss.

Wheelersburg has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Valley, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-8.

While Wheelersburg had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
