Softball Game Preview: Ferndale Eagles vs. Lamphere Rams

The Ferndale Eagles will challenge the Lamphere Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with eight consecutive losses for Ferndale and five for Lamphere.

Troy hit Ferndale with a five-run first inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles lost 14-4 to the Colts.

Ruby Krupa Grob put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits (and not a single walk). Krupa Grob was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, Adriana Christofaro made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Jade Blair was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Lamphere came up short against Notre Dame Prep on Wednesday and fell 6-2.

Ferndale's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Lamphere, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.
