Football Game Preview: Warde Mustangs vs. Westhill Vikings

The Warde Mustangs will head out to face off against the Westhill Vikings at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Warde is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Wilton on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Mustangs lost 49-28 to the Warriors. The Mustangs have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in James Dellavolpe and Charlie Calabrese. Calabrese had a great game and rushed for 44 yards and one TD. Meanwhile, Dellavolpe did his best for the losing side, throwing for 102 yards and one touchdown, while also punching in one score on the ground.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Westhill). They won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Bridgeport Central 15-14. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Hilltoppers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Westhill's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Warde, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
