Recap: East Lincoln Mustangs vs. Kings Mountain Mountaineers
The East Lincoln Mustangs can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They secured a 68-62 W over Kings Mountain. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
East Lincoln's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Christian Atkins led the charge by scoring 15 points along with 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Fannon, who scored 19 points.
Several Mountaineers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bradley Floyd, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 10 assists. Another player making a difference was J'myun Huskey, who scored 16 points.
East Lincoln's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Kings Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Lincoln will square off against Ashbrook at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ashbrook will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line. As for Kings Mountain, they will head out on the road to face off against Shelby at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
